JM: Great comments on RDB about Ron Paul and USAPATRIOT I & II.
The google thing is laughable in the sense that the DHS will find 10s of billions of searches for "three broads getting it on" and very little that has anything to do with politics.
What's not so laughable is that USAPATRIOT II is written so vaguely and so broadly that every aspect of human life is a felony. So, with a database like that even a search for "three broads getting it on" can be used in a selective SHOW TRIAL.
Hopefully under Obama's administration the economy doesn't totally collapse and force martial law or rationing. But it seems like Obama is still gonna obey The Establishment judging from his support of FISA, the bailouts, etc
Hard to tell with Obama. Very impressed with him when he feels comfortable. When he doesn't he can get rolled a bit. I think that's what happened with the bailout. He sat on his hands all through July doing all these foolish events aimed at pleased the very same racists who are making his life miserable now. When he wasn't doing that he was getting his balls in an uproar for no reason with the Clintons. All that time wasted when he could have been sitting down with Buffett and Voelcker sharpening up.
As a result, he came into the thing very cold and I'm telling you for sure you have a better handle on the most complex macroeconomic puzzle an imperial country has presented in centuries. So, he got familiar with the politics of it but not the essence of it. His job as a party leader he did perfectly. He didn't show up for his job as a man with a vision for getting through this. He didn't have to have a genius solution. He merely had to learn the basics and he didn't do that. Maybe it didn't interest him. Maybe he's ego got in the way and he couldn't allow Buffett or Voelcker to be the experts. Who knows? I've never worked with the guy. How would I know his management style?
I don't blame him for that. He's taken the world on his shoulders with this quest. And he's done brilliantly with it because he's got a landslide win in sight.
You know what that means, JM. It means he's not an econ or finance guy, he's a pol. FISA he had no choice. And he's never been one to buck the Establishment. Jeez, he CAMPAIGNED FOR LIEBERMAN AGAINST THE DEMOCRAT LAMONT IN CT!
How could he do such a thing? I know why. Because he was a newbie to the Senate and the Senate is a closed-club and an insider was being threatened by an outsider. He was a rookie fitting in. That makes him human.
Jay, you got a bright future in the game. You've got a good mind for quant-based trading and with big picture macro trading. You're much more mature than I was at 19.
I think you're much better suited for private high net worth off-shore domiciled Sarbanes-Oxley waived hedge-fund management than being an employee at a bank.
With Torrance and me, you got two guys who've been around and know this shit. The paranoia about the state control apparatus is not misplaced. It's not crazy. It's very real. I'm probably not ever coming back to the USA, I fear it so much.
Stick to what you do well. Get your degree. See what life's like after a few years of the Obama Administration and see where the economy's at and try to develop some ideas which interest you along the way.
That's why I stay around cuz I learn a lot from you and Torrance. And thanks for the encouragement, it's hard tryna to prepare for possible economic collapse with so little time but Ima get it done.

Stay safe. But be ready. Get a passport.
